Njilu's story

Njilu is a 34-year-old married man. He has one child who is 8 years old. He describes himself to be a God-fearing, focused and optimistic man. He operates a retail business where he sells khat. He has been involved in this business for 10 years. His business is located at a viable business location with high demand for khat, and his primary customers are local residents. He describes his biggest business challenge to be inadequate funds for improving the business.

He will use the 20,000 KES (Kenyan shillings) loan to buy khat to sell. His business goal is to increase operating capital to 150,000 KES within five years. In addition, Njilu does several other business that increase his business income. He sells chickens and milk, and he is also a priest in his church. This is his first loan with SMEP DTM.
