Josephine is 35 years old and a widow with four children. She lives in Kinangay Sur, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. For over three years, she has owned and operated a specialized food business in the local community, selling bananacue, biscuits, fried wrapped banana, and fishballs; she earns PHP 3,000 each month.
Josephine joined Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) in 2010. She is requesting a loan of PHP 24,000 to purchase canned goods and raw ingredients for food preparation. She plans to expand the business and purchase a house and lot through Camella Homes.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
