Alicia is 37 years old and has three children. She lives with her husband, who also has one child. Her husband works as a circus clown and Alicia has a small store. She has always worked in the store as this is what her mother did as well.
The loan that she is asking for from Fundación Campo is to buy the ingredients to make fried yuca, plantains, pastries, etc., as this time of the year there are many tourists in the area where she works. With the income she makes from the sale of these food items, she hopes to open a more formal cafe on the shores of a nearby lagoon. Her wish is also to repair her house, by covering the floor with bricks.
