Mwaruwa is 55 years old, married and the father of four children. His children are 12, 15, 17 and 19 years old. He sells cattle and this is the only revenue that he earns for a living. He has been in this business for the last seven years. His major monthly expenditure is the payment of school fees for his children.
Mwaruwa has approached Yehu Microfinance with a loan request amounting to KES 50,000 to buy cattle during the season in which they are sold cheaply.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
