Jean Claude is part of the Twisungane solidarity group which grows corn. He is 27 years old, married and has 2 children, the eldest of whom is 4 years old and the youngest, 2. Neither of his children go to school and he is also responsible for 2 other people. He was born in Rwanda and has 5 years of primary school education. He started working with ACB Ltd in 2008 and is on his 3rd loan cycle. The previous loans have been properly reimbursed.

He will use the current loan to rent a field, buy seeds and pay the labourers. He does not expect to have any difficulty in repaying this loan. In order to increase his agricultural output, his strategy is to use modern farming methods, namely chemical fertilizers. His business ambition is to become a professional farmer. As to his family, he will build his own house and will continue ensure his family's well-being.
Jean Clayde fait partie du groupe solidaire TWISUNGANE qui fait l’agriculture des maïs. Il marié, âgé de 27 ans et a 2 enfants dont le plus âgé a 4 ans et le moins âgé a 2 ans. Aucun de ses enfants ne va à l’école et deux autres personnes sont en sa charge. Il est né au Rwanda et son niveau d’éducation est 5 ans de l’éducation primaire.
Elle a commencé de collaborer avec ACB Ltd en 2008 et est au 3ème cycle de crédit. Les cycles antérieurs sont bien remboursés.
Avec le présent crédit, il va louer le champ, acheter la semence et payer la main d’œuvre. Il n’attend aucune difficulté de non remboursement de ce prêt.
Pour accroitre son agriculture, il a la stratégie de pratiquer l’agriculture moderne en utilisant les engrais chimiques.
L’ambition pour son activité agricole est de devenir l’agriculteur professionnel. Pour sa famille, il va construire sa propre maison et continuera d’assurer le bien être de sa famille.

This loan is part of Amasezerano Community Banking's Ezukame ("agriculture") program, designed to provide capital to poor farmers in rural Rwanda. ACB invests a higher percentage of its portfolio in agriculture than any other Kiva Field Partner, and is strongly committed to serving the needs of rural borrowers. This type of loan has terms ranging from one to 36 months, with the option to repay in full at the end of the term or in monthly installments.
 

This flexibility is critical in Rwanda where 85% of the population is employed in agriculture, but many formal financial institutions consider the sector to be too risky to invest. By funding this loan, you are expanding opportunity to farmers with limited options.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
