"Las de Saber" is a communal bank which is formed of 9 women who work in different employment, and to contribute to the finances of their homes they work on the land. They all have one objective in common, which is to help their families to get ahead. They are kind, courteous and responsible women, who still maintain the culture and traditions of their villages. They live in the parish of Tarqui in Cuenca, an area which has large plains and beautiful countryside. Its architecture is a mixture of the modern and the ancient.

One of the members of this group is Victoria. She has been part of the communal bank for 2 years and in this time she has managed to form close bonds of friendship with her colleagues. She is 28 years old, and she has married and in her marriage she has conceived 4 children aged 10, 8, 6 and 1. Her first three children are studying in a small school in the area. Her husband works as a day labourer. They do not have their own home, so they live in an estate where they work.

Victoria works looking after the home and rearing and selling guinea pigs and hens. She has also worked on the estate where she lives for 5 years. There she works Sunday to Sunday without a fixed schedule.

She is going to invest her new loan in the purchase of hens, guinea pigs and animal feed. Her dream is to have her own home, and more hens so that she can work in the business of selling eggs.

Las del Saber es un banco comunal que está conformado por 9 mujeres quienes laboran en diferentes actividades y para aportar a la economía de sus hogares trabajan en tareas del campo, todas tienen un objetivo en común el cual es sacar adelante a sus familias, son mujeres amables, gentiles y responsables que aun mantienen la cultura y tradiciones de sus pueblos. Viven por la parroquia de Tarqui en Cuenca, lugar que tiene grande llanuras y hermosos paisajes, su arquitectura es una mezcla de lo moderno y lo antiguo.

Una de las socias de este grupo es la Señora. Victoria, forma parte de la banca comunal 2 años y en todo este tiempo ha logrado estrechar los lazos de amistad con sus compañeras. Tiene 28 años, es casada y en su unión conyugal ha concebido 4 hijos de 10, 8, 6 y 1 año de edad, sus tres primeros hijos están estudiando en una escuelita de la localidad. Su esposo labora como jornalero, no tienen casa propia por lo que viven en una hacienda donde trabajan.

Doña Victoria se dedica a cuidar su casa y a la cría y venta de cuyes y gallinas, también labora en la hacienda donde vive desde hace 5 años, ahí trabaja de domingo a domingo sin un horario fijo.

Su nuevo crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de gallinas, cuyes y alimento para animales.

Su sueño es tener su casa propia y más gallinas para dedicarse al negocio de venta de huevos.
