Hiep was born in 1968. She has seven children. The two older children are married and the others are in university, the 12th grade, the 9th grade, the 5th grade and the 3rd grade. Her husband raises chickens and earns about 6,000,000 VND per month. Hiep also raises chickens, grows vegetables and sells food in the market to earn a living. Her income is also about 6,000,000 VND per month, making her family’s total earnings about 12,000,000 VND per month. Hiep has participated in SEDA's credit program since 2010. In the last cycle she borrowed 7,392,000 VND and repaid the loan on time. In this loan cycle, she would like to borrow 7,392,000 VND to buy chicken feed. She always wants to raise her children well.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
