Thanh was born in 1987. She has two children who are five and six years old. Her husband is a driver and earns 5,000,000 VND per month. Thanh cooks traditional food in the market to earn a living. She has done this for 2 years. Her income is about 3,000,000 VND. Her family’s total earnings are about 8,000,000 VND per month.
She has participated in SEDA's credit program since 2008. In the last cycle she borrowed 6,496,000 VND and repaid the loan on time. In this loan cycle, she would like to borrow 8,288,000 VND to buy noodles and beef to cook her food in the market. She has always wants to raise her children well and to buy a new truck for her husband to do his job.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
