Athumani is a 35-year-old man, married with four children, ages 12, 8, 14 and10, all living together in Tiribe, Kenya. His monthly major expenditures are fees payment and food for his family. He owns his own house – no cost for rental payment. He earns his living from a poultry business which he runs. He keeps poultry and sells the eggs to schools and hotels near his home. Due to an increase in demand for eggs, he is requesting a loan of 20,000 Kenyan shillings to buy more poultry. He is grateful for the opportunity.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
