Fresia is a single woman with no children. She stays at a family house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
With the loan, she has started a charcoal selling business; she sells from home to her neighbors and passersby. Fresia faces a major challenge of price fluctuation. During the rainy season, the availability of charcoal for sale is lower compared to the hot dry season, when the availability of charcoal is higher.
With the 30,000 Kenyan shillings, she wants to purchase sacks of charcoal for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
