Khadija is a married woman with four children. She sells seasonal fruits and vegetables such as pears, oranges, apples, bananas, onions, potatoes, and cabbages. Khadija has ten years of experience in this field and has gained the necessary skills and knowledge required for her business.
Fruits are very popular among the people of Mombasa and, they are in high demand throughout the year. People like to eat fresh fruit, and it is one of the main desserts given to guests. Her shop is located in a bazaar. People always pass her shop and come to buy some fresh fruit.
Khadija wants to expand her business. She does not have enough products to cover the high demand. She would like to purchase more fruits and vegetables and increase her turnover as well as improve the lives of her family members.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
