Phany is 27 years old. She is married and resides with two children in Takeo Province, Cambodia. She has been cultivating rice and fattening up animals for more than ten years, earning approximately $2 daily. Her husband (who is joining her in the picture) is a construction worker who makes an income of $6 per day. In order to improve her husband’s business, Phany requests a loan of $500 to purchase more construction tools for her husband to use in his work. This purchase will help him obtain enough tools to use and acquire the ability to bid for a bigger construction project. In the future, she would like to run a grocery store at home and send her children to a good school. Moreover, she hopes to build a new house as soon as possible.
