Fatuma is 50 years old, married, and has three children. She lives and runs a charcoal business in the village of Mwambalazi. Fatuma began her business with a notions store, selling charcoal from home. Later she moved to a larger area of retail. So far, it has gone very well for her. Over the years, she has built a loyal, dependable customer base.
Fatuma is requesting this loan in order to buy sacks of charcoal so that she can continue to stock her store well. This way, she will be able to meet her customers’ needs.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
