Sopio, age 27, lives in the Samtredia district with her husband, her parents-in-law, and her infant daughter. Sopio’s husband is a soldier, her father-in-law is an auto mechanic, and her mother-in-law is provided with a retirement pension.
The family runs a dairy farm. They have one milk cow, whose milk is used for making cheese products. The cheese is sold at the local open market. In addition, Sopio purchases chicks in the spring, raises them, and sells the hens at a profit. Sopio is a hard-working young woman who is responsible and very well-known in the area for her big heart and her friendliness to others.
Sopio has requested a loan in order to purchase chicks for her poultry farming venture. She considers her business to be profitable, since it generates a good income that enables her to help support her family.
