Eng is from Kampong Cham province, an area from which rubber plants are a famous product. A mother of four schoolchildren, Eng is 39 years old and manages a rubber plantation on three hectares of land. She just started this business three years ago.
Eng's first loan with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) was a cycle ago. This loan has helped her to gradually unburden her family’s hardship, and she has managed to fully repay back her loan already. Now, she is applying for a new loan in order to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes to get more income from her current business so that she can gradually improve her living standard.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
