Inn
An elderly woman from Kampong Cham Province (Cambodia), Inn is the mother of seven children. To support her daily cost of living, she grows rice on two hectares of farmland, whereas her husband is a house builder in the local area. The current business earns her about 30,500 KHR per day, and she saves about 5,000 KHR per day after offsetting other expenses.

She is a third-time borrower with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). Since the previous loans have been repaid, she feels empowered that she can upgrade her lifestyle gradually.

Now, she is applying for a loan of 3,000,000 KHR to buy fertilizer, rice seed, and pay for a transplanting fee.

She hopes to grow her cash-crop in a timely manner, and get a good yield so that she can earn more income to buy an additional plot of farmland for growing more rice.

About VisionFund Cambodia

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
