A loan of $600 helped to buy two bullocks.

Oscar Osmin's story

Oscar, 47, has a spouse and three children. He’s worked in agriculture since he was about ten years old. When he became partnered he continued working in the same occupation because he never got the opportunity to study. He also works in construction, an occupation he learned with a friend. He earns income from these two occupations to support his family. One of his children graduated high school and is married and his other two attend elementary school.

He rises at 4:30am to take advantage of his time and head out to work early because he must walk for about 30 minutes. He returns home at noon and if there is a lot of work to do he only has lunch and returns to work.

The loan he’s asking Fundación Campo for is to buy two bullocks to consume the forage left over from harvest. He’d never be able to accomplish this on his own because they are very poor and he likes having animals. He wants to work hard to save up to install potable water at home since he currently has to carry it on his back; another of his dreams is that his children attend university.
