Djekafo Group
In this Group: Badoussou, Bah , Nakoro , Djelika
The Djekafo group is made up of married women with an average age of 30 and, on average, 4 children who all live in extended traditional family settings in the village of Massoukou, Koulikoro region (second administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They got to know each other thanks to family and neighbourly relationships, and friendships. They sell snacks (made using wheat flour) and charcoal. The women of the Djekafo group are on their 3rd loan.

Djelika, standing on the left in the picture, plans to buy 10 kilos of wheat flour and 2 litres of oil which will be used to make snacks to be sold during market days in Marka Coungo, to women and men. She expects to make an average monthly profit of 15 000 francs, part of which will be used to take care of her family's needs and part of which will be reinvested in her business.
Composé de femmes mariées les membres du groupe Djekafo, ont en moyenne 30 ans, 4 enfants et vivent toutes dans des familles traditionnelles élargies dans le village de Massoukou, Région de Koulikoro (deuxième région administrative de la république du Mali).
Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de parenté, de voisinage et d’amitié. Elles font le commerce de friandises (farine de blé), et du charbon de bois.
Les femmes du groupe Djekafo sont à leur troisième prêt.
La cliente DJELIKA, première personne à partir de la gauche, compte acheter dix kilogrammes de la farine de blé et deux litre d’huile qui sera utilisé pour préparer et vendre des friandises pendant les jours de foire au marché de Marka Coungo femmes et aux hommes.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice moyen mensuel de 15.000FCFA qui sera utilisé pour les besoins de la famille et une partie est réinvestie dans l’activité.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
