Cecilia is 52 years old and married with two children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. For over seven years, she has owned and operated a retail business in the local community to earn a living; she earns 2,000 PHP each month.
Cecilia joined GDMPC in 2009, and now she is requesting a loan of 10,000 PHP to purchase additional products to sell like shampoo, soap, rice, coffee, sugar, and canned goods. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
