Teodora is 63 years old and widowed with five children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. For over 20 years, she has owned and operated a farm, planting and harvesting rice for sale to earn a living. She earns 3,000 PHP each month.
Teodora joined GDMPC in 2009. She is requesting a loan of 8,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer such as manure. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
