Helen is 49 years old and married with three children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. For over five years, she has owned and operated a retail business in the local community; she earns 20,000 PHP each month.
Helen joined GDMPC in 2010. She is requesting a loan of 36,000 PHP to purchase additional products to sell like canned goods, shampoo, soap, and rice. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
