Gelva is a 35-year-old married man from the town of Kagadi, Uganda. He owns a restaurant in the same town and is also employed by EMESCO, a local saving and credit cooperation. He began his business due to lack of restaurants in the area and the need to earn extra income. He dreams of buying land for farming and constructing a house for a residence. Gelva intends to use the loan to buy utensils for his restaurant.

This loan is part of HOFOKAM's program targeting poor and geographically excluded populations in Western Uganda. In addition to loans, it provides social and business training programs to low-income entrepreneurs and their communities.
