Elesier, age 51, owns and operates a business recycling and selling lampakanay (woven fiber) products in the local community. He has been engaged with his business over 16 years and earns PhP 5,000 every month. He and his wife have four children and live in Aurora.
Elesier joined GDMPC in 2008. He is requesting a loan in the amount of PhP 7,000 to purchase the raw ingredients needed to make products for sale.
He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
