Rose is a single mother with five children, only two of whom go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (two brothers and one sister). She has run a business selling local gin for five years. She works from her house and sells wholesale only, seven days a week. She has applied for a loan of 2,000,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more jerrycans of gin. Her major business challenges include thieves and defaulters. She hopes to build a store to house jerrycans of gin and also to build rental rooms. She lives in her own house, and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses includes school fees and utility bills.
