Zeinab is a 35-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s married, living with her husband and six children. Together with her husband, she tries her best to bring added income to the family and enhance their way of living. She has owned a mini-market for a few years. Her business has been growing after she worked nonstop, without forgetting her husband’s support. He’s a business owner and has almost thirteen years in the same occupation.
Zeinab sells all kinds of food provisions, soft drinks and many diverse products. As she wishes to better develop her business, she decided to take out a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l to increase her inventory of goods and products. With this Kiva loan, she will increase her sales and therefore her profits thus improving her family’s way of life. In the near future, she wishes to open her own supermarket.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
