Natela runs a poultry farm and sells eggs locally. In addition, George is a truck driver and Natela’s father-in-law works as a car mechanic. They get monthly salaries. Besides her farming, Natela works as a baker at the local confectionery and earns monthly income, as well. The family income is only enough to cover the family's essential daily expenses.
Natela requested a loan for renovation of the kitchen since it is in bad condition. After she renovates the kitchen, Natela will bake and sell cakes from her house and increase the income in order to improve the living conditions of her big family.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
