Conchita is married and has six children. She is 39 years old and resides in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. Conchita is operating a fish-selling business venture for a living, while her husband does the fishing. She has been in this business for nine years. Each month, she earns PHP 3,200 doing this type of business. She requesting a loan of PHP 4,000 to purchase fishing equipment, including hooks and nets. In 2009, Conchita joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. In the future, she hopes to improve her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
