David is a 45-year-old gentleman from the outskirts of Kyotera. He is married with a family and has six children. His main activity is growing bananas and coffee. In addition to this, David has a small retail shop that gives him a small income for his day-to-day expenses. He applied for a loan of 1,500,000 shillings to upgrade his banana plantation. David sells his produce to traders who come from the city of Kyotera and his neighbours who cannot produce their own food. He dreams of buying a bigger portion of land so that he can increase his production and satisfy his customers. However, he faces challenges of price fluctuations, poor storage facilities, poor means of transport and middlemen who buy his produce and refuse to pay him sometimes.
