Ami's Group
In this Group: Ami, Arame
This group has been in existence for a long time. It consists of two women who are from the same locality and are united by good social relationships. Ami, the featured borrower, is the woman on the left in the photo, wearing a white scarf. She is 57 years old and the mother of ten children, five of whom are boys. For a while now, she has been actively involved in fattening livestock, and she has a good experience in this field.

With her new loan of 300,000 CFA francs, she will buy some sheep and raise them for future resale.

Thanks to the profits from her business, she will be able to cover her children's nutritional needs and will also help her husband with the purchase of school supplies.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
