Lolita, 59, is a widow and has two children. She lives in Militar, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur. She has been in fishing business for three years. This activity enables her to earn a monthly income of 6,000 PHP for her family. She would like to make her business more profitable, so she decided to ask for a micro-credit loan from GDMPC for 12,000 PHP in order to repair her fishing boat. She is eager to increase her income in the next months.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
