Lorena
Lorena is a 49-year old woman who lives in the town of Soledad with her husband and three children. She works from 7am to 7pm selling washing machine rentals, a business that she started 5 years ago when, after becoming unemployed, she decided to generate income on her own. Her clients are neighbors that want to wash their clothes effectively and away from the hot sun of the Colombian Caribbean.

Lorena's friendliness and good service quality attract many clients. However, many of them have not been able to receive the service lately because demand exceeds capacity. She plans to use the requested Kiva loan to buy washing machines to respond to demand and therefore generate more income. This will be her first loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo and she expects it to help improve her quality of life and that of her family.
