Lucy is a 40-year-old woman living in the town of Kaloleni, Kenya. She is widowed and has eight children. To making a living, she owns and operates a chicken-raising business. Lucy has been involved in this business for more than six years.
She joined Yehu to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Lucy wants to buy chicken feed and medicine, which is why she is asking for a loan from Kiva through Yehu.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
