Georges is a 51-year-old Lebanese man. He’s married and lives with his wife and three children. Two are working and the other is still studying. He, together with his wife, manages the family’s household expenses while operating his business. Georges has been a detergent wholesaler since 2010. He sells different types of detergents such as floor, window, glass, toilet and home appliance cleaning products. He works from home, where many customers from his community visit him to buy their needed products at good prices. He keeps on working very hard in order to maintain his family’s financial status at a good level.
Today, he is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l to expand his product inventory of detergents. He confirms that the loan will help him boost his sales and thus his income by 15%.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
