Ismaiil is a 40-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two children who are attending school. With his family’s support, he has been capable of managing the house expenses and living a proper life. Despite all the difficulties that he has faced, he was brave and not afraid to take on his own all the family responsibilities.
Ismaiil started to work as a painter in 2007 and still does. He works on a free-lance basis and is considered friendly especially with his loyal customers. He’s expert in his field and knows very well how to deal with his clients. Today, he’s requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase added painting tools for his business in order to be able to handle his new project. This Kiva loan will open a new door for him to take on bigger projects and increase his productivity by 30%. In the future, he plans to open his own painting shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
