Walid is a 36-year-old married man. He’s married to Faten, a beautiful young woman and the mother of his only child.
Walid has been working as a taxi driver since 2010. His main route is between his town and the surrounding villages; and he also does private transportation upon client’s requests. His business income is very important as he represents the only income source for the family.
Today, he is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to perform needed maintenance on his car such as changing the tires, repairing the engine and painting the body, etc. He states that these repairs will make his transportation safer and will help him attract more customers. This is his first Kiva loan and he hopes to be able to improve his business as well as the family’s financial situation.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
