Mwanajuma is 31 and lives in the suburban area of Kisauni, a neighborhood in the city of Mombasa. Here she started her business selling African foods and beverages. She says that her business is doing well and she hopes to grow it so that it can attract more customers in future.
Mwanajuma is applying for a Kiva loan to buy the necessary ingredients to prepare her food.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
