Mariam, who is 36 years old, is widowed with six children. She and her family live in Likoni Mombasa, Kenya. She earns her living by operating a food cafe. She says she started with a small store and later changed locations. Now she has her food cafe. It has gone very well for her. She attracts regular customers because of her longevity and the good service she provides.

About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
