Young Delia is 19 years old and single. She currently lives with her parents, but she's financially independent. She works in farming on a 2-hectare plot of land which she inherited from her parents. She grows potatoes and locoto (a type of pepper) on a crop rotation system. She is experienced in her line of work within the community of Corani Pampa Duraznos, which is located 82 kilometers from the town of Cochabamba. Delia needs a loan in order to purchase dairy cattle. She reports that it's easier for her to raise dairy cattle and sell milk and cheese, because agriculture requires day laborers, and it's harder for a woman to handle the heavy loads. Delia is glad to obtain the loan, because she'll purchase the dairy cattle and therefore she'll keep on saving money in order to build her own house and start a family someday.
