Sherlyn, 33, is married with four children and lives in Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur. She operates and owns a business planting and harvesting rice for sale. She has been engaged in her business for 10 years and earns approximately 25,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) every month.
She joined GDMPC in 2010. She is requesting a loan of 30,000 PHP to purchase fertilizers such as manure. Sherlyn wants to expand her business and to support the education of her children.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
