Rolia, 59, is widowed with two children and lives in Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. She owns and operates a general store, selling a variety of different products to earn a living. She's been in this business for 11 years and each month, she earns 10,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) doing this type of business.
Rolia has requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to buy products to sell like rice, sugar, coffee, soap and canned goods. She joined GDMPC in 2011. In the future, Rolia wants to build a house and to see her children finish their studies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
