Barka, 25 years of age, is a young and responsible wife who is not yet blessed with a child. She has her own business that provides necessary help to her husband, so together they can support their household. Barka provides M-pesa services, a mobile money transfer platform.
She needs to improve her business. For this reason, Barka is requesting a loan from Yehu in order to add floats of both deposits and withdrawals in her business. This will allow her to provide service to more customers and thus, receive a higher income.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
