Angelita, 33, is married with two children. She lives in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental. She owns and manages a general store serving customers in the local community to earn a living. She's been with her business for 6 years, and each month she earns 21,500 PHP. Angelita joined GDMPC in 2009 and now she is requesting a loan of 25,000 PHP to purchase additional rice, soap, sugar, coffee, canned goods and other items to sell. She plans to use the additional revenue she generates to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
