Inocencia is the coordinator of the group, Nuevo Renacimiento (New Renaissance) 1, 2 & 3, located in the city of Samana. Samana is in one of the rural areas surrounded by the water of the Atlantic ocean. Many of the group members are selling goods, like bread, clothing, shoes or cosmetics. Others sell seafood, or run fried food stalls or other businesses.

Inocencia lives together with her long-term partner. She is running a fried food stall, specializing in fried pork chops and skin. She started her business around two years ago. She wants to invest her share of this loan to buy different pigs, to expand her pork inventory and thereby increase her sales. This is her first loan. She said that her most difficult challenge has been to establish her business, but she has made it possible to sell her foods to her community and others nearby.

She will use this loan to complete her capital, by buying two or three pigs. She is hoping to make her dreams come true: to have a prosperous life and a good business. She thanks all of you for your support!

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
