N’ayant pas fréquentée l’école pour des raisons sociales, elle commença très tôt à faire la tresse, elle est douée d’un génie de création dans ce domaine. En plus de la tresse elle vend également des mèches. Elle est très connue dans la ville de Ségou et environnant.
Dans le but d’augmenter son fonds de commerce pour faire face à la demande clientèle, elle a fait recours à Soro Yiriwaso avec qui elle est à deuxième prêt individuel.
Elle compte utiliser ce prêt pour acheter, 625 mèches pour cheveux, elle s’approvisionne au Burkina Faso. Fatoumata vend au comptant et à crédit à une clientèle composée de femmes. Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel 100.000 FCFA, ce dernier lui permettra de prendre en charge les dépenses familiales.
