Maimuna is 35 years old, married, and has four children, all of whom attend school. She is the owner of a small business that sells food and drinks at the central market. She prepares a variety of African foods. She started this business with her husband, using some of their savings.
Maimuna has managed little by little to build her business. She is requesting a loan, which she will use buy ingredients such as cooking oil, wheat flour, and beans, so that she can prepare her food items. She plans to stock her business so that she can gain new customers.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
