Kalsoom
Kalsoom is a 42-year-old married woman and the mother of nine children. She is trying hard to fulfill their demands, including food, health, clothing, and education. She and her husband have been doing farming for many years. They grow different vegetables and fruits and sell them in the local market. Her son also assists her in growing the various crops by watering the soil for good quality production. She has gradually improved her business with the support of Kashf Foundation. In order to purchase different types of seeds with packs of insecticides and pesticides, Kalsoom applied for a loan of 35,000 PKR. This would help her to grow good quality crops which will ultimately help in generating more cash.

About Kashf Foundation

Kashf Foundation is one of the leading microfinance providers in Pakistan, focused on expanding financial access for poor women across the country. The organization’s economic empowerment program has grown from 913 clients in 1999 to 284,653 clients as of May 2012, with a current outstanding portfolio of US$32 million.
