Piru is 32 years-old and married,with four children. He is from the town of Tiribe, located in the coastal zone of the country. He is known for being responsible, hardworking, of good habits, and with a desire to personally succeed.
Piru has been selling petrol and diesel for the past three years. He started this because he needed a way to generate an income and he took advantage of the demand for the commodity in his locality.
The business is located in a small store in his home where he sells in half and one litre plastic bottles. He will use the money from this loan to buy gallons of petrol and diesel to sell. Piru is grateful to the Kiva lenders who help people of limited resources in poor countries such as Kenya.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
