Mbeyu, age 38, lives with her common-law husband. She has four children, and she lives in a community in the town of Tiribe.
Mbeyu has been selling coconuts at the market for the last six years. As an additional business she also farms, growing a variety of crops. She was motivated to establish her business in order to help her husband with the family expenses.
She has currently requested a loan for 10,000 KES (Kenyan Shillings). She plans to use the loan to buy more coconuts and materials for their transport. She believes that the loan will help increase her sales.
