Esther is 46 years old. She describes herself as a happy, hardworking and responsible mother with her children. She is a single woman who lives with her three children in the town of Voi located in the Coast Province.
Esther has a grocery store. Her children help her, since it is the only source of income to cover the household expenses. For this reason, she constantly needs to supply her store with products.
The loan proceeds will be invested in the purchase of wholesale groceries, including bags of rice, sugar, salt and flour, as well as canned goods and soft drinks, which will allow her customers to have more variety to choose from. In this way, she will be able to obtain good earnings and improve her quality of life.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
