A rural villager located in Battambang province’s Sangke district, Savorn is 33 years old and a widowed mother of one daughter. Savorn is a rice farmer and a pig-raiser who has been involved in these businesses for 10 years.
Savorn has been with VisionFund for two cycles and completely paid back the past loans which have helped her better support her family with enough food.
Now she is requesting a new loan from VisionFund to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She will also use a portion of it to buy piglets to raise. She hopes this loan will enable her to earn more income from her current business so as to make a better living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
